House Concurrent Resolution 129

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE 1997-1998 RETIREES OF THE LOWNDES COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT AFTER MANY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE.

WHEREAS, the following persons retired from the Lowndes County School District in 1998 after giving many years of their time and service to the youth of the Lowndes County School District and the citizens of Lowndes County: Farrell McCullough, dispatcher, 19 years of service; Patricia Cantrelle, teacher, 26 years of service; Billy Robinson, teacher, 30 years of service; Maggie Carter, janitor, 23 years of service; Felix Wicks, teacher, 25 years of service; Gretta Gardner, teacher, 32 years of service; George Shelton, teacher, 31 years of service; Shelby Stratton, teacher, 28 years of service; Doris Holmes, librarian, 25 years of service; and Barbara Jenkins, personnel director, 25 years of service; and

WHEREAS, these retirees have unselfishly dedicated their efforts to assisting the Lowndes County School District in furthering its goals of educating, training and molding the students of the district to be responsible adults and future leaders; and

WHEREAS, the people of Mississippi are extremely proud of these remarkable employees, who have devoted so many years of service to Lowndes County and the State of Mississippi in furthering the educational and social development of the students of the Lowndes County School District:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we commend, congratulate and recognize the outstanding employees who retired in 1998 from the Lowndes County School District after providing so many years of dedicated service to the youth and citizens of Lowndes County, Mississippi.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to each of the retirees named in this resolution, the Board of Trustees of the Lowndes County School District and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
